dc.description.abstract | The Indian retail industry at $700 Bn accounts for over 10% of the GDP with unorganized retail sector commanding 90% market share dominated by neighborhood Kirana Stores. With 96% of Indian Commerce being routed through mom & pop stores, Ken Research, through its latest publication forecasted the Indian Hyperlocal market value to exceed INR 2,306 crore by 2020. Covid-19 pandemic provided a window of opportunity to hyperlocal space where Indian consumers had to rely on hyperlocal delivery platforms & proximity commerce to ensure undisrupted access to essentials. At the same time, the Digital Payments Industry too witnessed significant growth, especially UPI payments& Electronic Fund Transfers, which reached an all-time high during lockdown. Objective & Approach:- To understand the current Fintech marketspace & to identify, evaluate & recommend a suitable revenue model & other monetization avenue for Zopnote. We broke down the approach to the below steps. • Understanding Indian Fintech industry & identifying the players. • Understand the various dimensions & growth prospects of two emerging Indian business models. - Hyperlocal & Digital payments in India. • Analyzing products & best practices of players in the space. • Identifying different monetization avenues. • Evaluate viability of models - Subscription, Transaction etc. • Evaluate & recommend model for Zopnote | |
