Abstract: While the Paris Agreement has been a positive step towards combatting climate change, a fair evaluation of the current emission levels shows that most countries are falling short to their commitments. However, given that the provisions allow for revising, the Paris Agreement acts as a good starting point for everyone to come together and tackle a problem which impacts the everyone at large. Further, given that Paris Agreement is open to all nations, major emitting nations can learn from nations who are participating irrespective of their emissions and help each other out on mitigation measures. Like it is said that 5% of the global population ends up protecting 80% of the biodiversity which shows how a minor section of the society can help uplift and guide the population at large. While there are many sceptics, it is imperative for everyone at an individual, group, institution or country level to support and conduct measures that are aligned to protect against the adverse consequences of climate change. Effort now, will help creating a better world for the future generations.
