Injustice can be defined as an individual's experience of disrespect or unfair treatment at the hands of another, based on unequal power relationships between the two individuals. The perception of injustice is heavily dependent on the social context of the interaction – some behavior might be deemed reasonable during a specific era or culture while being otherwise during another period or culture. Internalization of injustice and persistent injustice effect have a significant role to play on how individuals react to injustice around us. Patriarchy refers to the system of practices and behaviors where the man is the head of the household and has economic power; however it has grown to mean "a universal, unchanging deterministic social structure which denies agency to women." It is worth understanding if an individual's (male/ female) patriarchal orientation influences their perception of justice.
