dc.description.abstract | Drug procurement and inventory control is an indispensable part of our healthcare system. It is one of the main pillars for ensuring universal and affordable healthcare. That is why this paper analyses the Dug procurement and inventory management in different States of India. In this paper we will see a comparative analysis of two cities of different States of India on various parameters related to Drug distribution. Also, we will summarize the overall Drug distribution models in three States in a comparative format. We will study overall health panorama in the country and compare it with international benchmarks. After this we will discuss various findings of Drug distribution in Udupi district of Karnataka and Darbhanga district of Bihar. Followed by this, we will study comparative analysis of these two districts on specific parameters. Moreover, we will provide weights to each of the parameters and rank three Indian States in order to judge their standings in terms of drug procurement and inventory management. Based on our analysis, we will give some key recommendations for Karnataka to improve upon their drug distribution model in order to stand at par with the international standards. | |
