dc.description.abstract | On September 25th, 2014, the world’s one of the fastest-growing economies, the third-largest by purchasing power parity (PPP) took a step to transform into a global manufacturing hub. Make in India campaign was launched as a worldwide marketing approach to attract investments from abroad in India and make it a manufacturing center. Many promises were made, 25 sectors were prioritised, but the impact of the initiative on the focused sectors along with the Indian economy as a whole is yet to be seen. The study focused on how the various performance variables like sales, factors of production, etc. fared after the implementation of the scheme. Through this study, the difference in performance between focused and non-focused sectors was also analyzed. This study found that Indian economy faced widespread slowdown and Make in India scheme wasn’t able to generate economic activities in focused as well as non-focused sectors. | |
