This project attempts to study Indian manufacturing sector using Tata Motors as a proxy. We have tried to analyse the firm through its various financial levers, cost headers as well as the key management decisions taken in the last 7 years from 2008-15. At the same time, we have analysed the major macroeconomic trends that have happened in the country in the same period, owing to government actions or global macroeconomic scenario. Lastly, we have went on to match them up and understand how each economic activity or event impacts Tata motors and the whole manufacturing sector in turn and what are the usual steps taken by the firm to gain advantage of/prevent itself from such a scenario.
