dc.description.abstractTo get detailed analysis of the veterinarian market in India and evaluate the opportunities for IDEXX instrument sales. The plan of the Research Team was to start off with a primary research in the market, which would include in depth interviews with industry experts, pet owners, veterinarians, and market players. The market size and the number of potential customers were important parameters in gaining a primary understanding of the market. Besides this, customer and pet segmentation was also of importance gain an insight into the market. The next step planned was to do an in-depth external analysis which would throw some light into the opportunities within this market for IDEXX instruments. Current trends and patterns were also part of the plan to understand what aspects of the market stand out and how can IDEXX use it to their advantage. In addition to the external analysis, a competitive analysis was also planned since this market is extremely competitive because of existing practices that uses human instruments for analysis animal samples and also because of the players from China who compete on price. Linked to the competitive analysis, a price analysis was also to be added. Recommendations were to be the final part of the project so that different scenarios and approaches could be predicted and possible actions in response could be suggested. The project has been divided into the following phases: Phase I: Background understanding and work plan development Phase II: Study methodology Phase III: External Analysis Phase IV: Develop final recommendations and final deliverables
