As per our study, we conclude that there is still a lot of gap in the policy making for Indian construction sector. Although, construction sector has seen a lot of reforms in terms of productivity and technology enhancements, still our overall productivity levels have gone down in the recent past. We have enunciated the importance of construction sector for the economy through output multipliers, employment multipliers, backward and forward linkages. A comparison with the other countries have shown that we still lag behind significantly in terms of final output and employment generated per unit dollar spent in this sector.
