dc.description.abstract | While the Indian farmer has seen remarkable progress in farming processes over the last few decades, he has been unable to reap the corresponding financial benefits. This is primarily due to the inefficient downstream chain, where the value appropriation is done by the intermediaries, leaving the farmer with a meagre share in the consumer’s rupee. The solution to this problem lies in establishing an entire eco-system that facilitates efficient price discovery, transparent bidding processes, establishment of grade/quality of the produce, financial services, warehousing and integrated logistics. | |
