dc.description.abstractThe structure of the report is as follows: First we discuss the organized retailing in India, market size and opportunities and the demand side & supply side growth drivers. Following this, we have analyzed key challenges in the growth of organized retailing – they challenges identified are – regulatory issues, competition from traditional retailers, personnel, real estate, multiple tax issues and continuously changing consumer preference. Then we discussed the three major players in multi-brand retailing. They have been chosen keeping in mind the need for financial data of the retailing division. Followed by analysis of the major players, there are recommendations which will help the retail sector cope up with the challenges and focus on more sustainable growth in future.
