dc.description.abstract | This report has been prepared for a study done by us for the CCS project. The study aims to understand supply chain and operational aspects in the construction industry. The study has been done in collaboration with FIRELuxur Developers. The study aims to understand major problems affecting in the construction projects and how the efficiency can be brought in the operations like in other manufacturing industry. The primary and secondary research has been done in order to determine major problems and causes for the problems. This study has zeroed in on the three major problems identified in the research which are: 1) Time overruns 2) Cash-flow mismatches and 3) Costs Overruns. These problems have been further studies by analyzing the case study of an in-progress construction project owned by FIRELuxur developers. The case study analysis has been focused on cash out flows and inflows, project network with uncertainties in activities time and price fluctuations in the costs of key raw materials to understand the main causing agents of these problems. | |
