India stands 3 in CO2 emissions in the world, contributed by coal plants, paddy fields and cattle. By 2030, the country pledged a 30-35% reduction in the emissions intensity’, this target was part of the Paris Agreement. However, the per capita emission is still lower as compared to the developed countries. India is also ramping up the renewable sources for power — the dominant one being Solar energy. The aim is to make the renewable energy contribution reach 40% of the capacity by 2030."
