Nvidia: Technological evolution

Abstract

Nvidia is a company that became synonymous with graphics cards, with a global presence in the graphics processing unit market. The journey of Nvidia from its beginnings to its current state makes for a fascinating study. When visiting the Nvidia website currently, the title says "Artificial Intelligence Computing Leadership from Nvidia". How did a company that began making graphics cards for PCs transition into an Al computing leader? How did the company and its strategy evolve to bring it here? These are some of the questions we intend to address in this study. Nvidia has evolved a platform strategy around its hardware and the CUDA ecosystem. We hope to gain some insights from the patenting activity of Nvidia to trace their innovation journey.
