dc.description.abstract | The Textile industry in India is one of the oldest industries, dating back several centuries. The industry in ts current state, is generally labor intensive and accounts for 2% of lndia's GDP. As a result, the industry is one of the largest employers in India. Hence the industry from a very important and integral part of the Indian economy. Additionally, given the increased penetration of organized retail favorable demographics, rising income levels and rising investments, this industry is expected to expand to 2.3 billion USD by 2027. The industry is extremely varied with several players that differ from each other in terms of size, capital employed, products, supply chain and value proposition. And, given the diverse demographic of India, the customer requirements are also varied. | |
