Title: | India stack: An exploration of the 3 layers | Authors: | Agarwal, Ayushi Vitthal, Shirsat Durga |
Keywords: | India stack;Goods and services | Issue Date: | 2022 | Publisher: | Indian Institute of Management Bangalore | Series/Report no.: | PGP_CCS_P22_062 | Abstract: | One of the biggest reasons for growth in the world could be attributed to, to borrow a term from Thomas L Friedman, the "flattening of the world". Increasing access and democratizatio of indispensable goods has led to people leveraging them to advance further. However, in a country like India, where access to basic goods is also difficult owing to its large size and fragmented network, opportunities for increasing democratization of access to goods seemed like a far-fetched idea. And this would have been the case if it weren't for India Stack. India Stack - a moniker for a set of open APis revolutionized crucial pieces of the development and growth story of India and in the process, helped India find its place in the Internet Age. From building technology across layers and making them accessible to everyone at no cost, this ecosystem and architecture of digital public goods has catapulted India to the position of a leader in this digital age.; Other developed nations are trying to unpack the India Stack to replicate a similar model. But what really is the India Stack story? | URI: | https://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/21917 |
