Abstract: This project revolves around the insights drawn from e-way bills data obtained from the Government of India. We have used the da.ta of E-way Bills generated in the Indian states from 2018 to 2021 to explore the domestic trade scenario in India. The e-way bills data set has provided state-wise monthly trade activity across the country. The data has been used to systematically explore how the domestic trade has changed over the past few years in India; the impact of the pandemic and lockdowns; and other related insights. The recent impact of Covid 19 on trade and its implications have also been kept in mind. We have analysed the data along multiple factors and tried to provide insights about the sa.me. The project also looks at some universal hypotheses in the trade arena and attempts to prove them through this data. Multiple models were built to analyse the data and reach conclusions accordingly. Some examples of insights include ranking of the states on the basis of production and export) change in percentage production during Covid lockdown etc. We have also deep-dived into the anomalies to try and understand the root causes for the same.
