Abstract: The healthcare ecosystem in India can be described as a multi-layer model with 3-tiered system providing preventive and curative care through private and public health delivery systems in place. As the urban population is catered through a mix of public and private health centres, the rural population is majorly relied upon the three-layered health model, including sub-centres, primary health centres (PHCs) and community healthcare centres (CHCs). Following diagram describes the structure of Indian Public Health ecosystem with distribution of healthcare infrastructure and required resources at each stage.
