dc.description.abstractThe project analyses the best 15 player combination for a team in IPL auction based on their respective historical performance records with a constrained team budget. The performance data was collected for the IPL years 2008-21 and auction data for year 2022. Career scores for all the players were ca lculated through Dreamll pointer system. To predict a player's auction price using the calculated career score, linear regression model was developed. Our next objective was to build an optimisation model to select the best combination of players that is maximizing the career scores with constraints - playing combination (fixed batsmen, bowlers, all-rounders & wicket keeper), total allocated team budget and international players in the team.
