dc.description.abstractThe objective of this CCS is dependent on four major focus areas: 1) Understand the rising importance of ESG in today's corporate world and the multi-fold reasons for the same. 2) Focus on the Environmental aspect of ESG and various initiatives I steps being taken by large commercial enterprises towards improving sustainability of their business, that involves carbon footprint reduction, reduced emissions, and other sustainable business practices in their core operation. 3) Once the generic initiatives are explored upon, the study has deep dived into the chemical sector industries, namely Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik (BASF) and Vedanta Chemicals, to understand how the industry is shifting to an overall sustainable strategy and addressing the trade-offs that may be inherent in this approach.
