In order for Vocational Education to play its part effectively in the changing national context and for India to enjoy the fruits of the demographic dividend, there is an urgent need to redefine the critical elements of imparting vocational education and training to make them flexible, contemporary, relevant, inclusive and creative. The Government is well aware of the important role of Vocational education and has already taken a number of important initiatives in this area. One of the objectives of the Vocational Education Programme of NIOS is to meet the need for skilled and middle-level manpower for the growing sectors of economy, both organized and unorganized. The range of Vocational Education courses has been expanding over the years depending upon needs of learners and market demands. The present Vocational Education courses of NIOS are meant for both urban and rural sectors. With this need of skill requirement in different sectors, MHES focused on retail sector and in collaboration with NIOS (an autonomous Govt. Body), MHES designed a course for providing employment opportunities for students from under privileged sections by providing training & certification programme in Retail sector i.e. The Sales & Service Skills Certification. Then analysed the financial situation of the underprivileged sections and decided to get funding from the corporate companies. In keeping mind that, new CSR policy going to impose by GOI, I tried to analyse the funding opportunity available for the vocational courses providers like NIOS and MHES also tried to capture the business by submitting detailed proposal. | URI: | http://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/7961 |
