dc.description.abstract | Theprojectisrelatedtothepowersector.Indiasuffersmajorprobleminpowergeneration,asitstandsonthefifthpositioninternsoftheelectricitygenerationintheworld.Thedemandforpowerisgoingtobeincreasedbyaround3.5timesinupcomingtwodecades.So,manynewpowerplantsarebeingplannedatrapidpace.Buttheirestablishmentisstalledbyseveralissueslikelandacquisition,environmentalclearances,fuelshortage,shortageofpowerequipment,tariffissuesandmanyotherthings.Mostoftheseissuesarerelatedtothepolicyissuesandgovernmentwillhavetotakedecisivesteptoexpeditetheprocess.Whenthesepolicystepswouldbetaken,theneachandeveryprojectwillhaveadifferenttimeframetostarttheiroperation.Theywillfacepeculiarbottlenecksinincreasingtheiroperationalefficiency.Itwouldbedependentonthenatureoftheprojectitself.Thisprojectwillattempttoidentifythepossibleimprovementareas.ItwilltrytoidentifybusinessareasfortheIBMConsultinginit.Therecommendationswouldberelatedtothecurrentandproposedprojectsofthecompanyinthepowersector.Itwillalsosuggestemergingbusinessareasinthesector.Itwilldeliveraforecastofthepowersectorwhiletakingcareoftheprojectspecificdetails. DetailedanalysisforJindalPower,ReliancePowerandAdaniPowerhasbeendone.Forthesecompanies,theirprojectsunderimplementationandoperationareanalyzedandpossiblecostcuttingmeasuresbyimplementingIMBsolutionshavebeenidentified.Forongoingprojects,theearlyrevenuerecognition,lessproductioncostandlesscapitalexpenditurehasbeencalculated,whileforoperationalprojectsdowntimereductionbenefits,operationandmaintenancecostreductionbenefits,carbonemissionsavings,fuelcostreductionandinterestsavingshasbeencalculated.Breakevenperiod,riskanalysisandotherpossiblebusinessareashavealsobeenmodified. | |
