Abstract: World economic power play is changing its turf from the traditional power houses of the United States, Europe and Japan to the developing economies like India and China as their contribution is ever increasing in the share of the world’s output, trade, investment and consumption.The future is Multi-Polar World. A key dimension of this new global order, as identified in the study, is parameters for tapping talent in the developing economy of India, which is closer to being developed than to under developed ones. Winning talent has become a significant factor to achieving high performance in the face of shrinking labour forces in developed economies and access to large talent pools in the emerging economies. It is estimated that approximately 97% of the 438 million people who will join the global workforce by 2050 will be from developing countries. India has one of the world’s largest and youngest populations—by 2020, the country is expected to represent 17% of the world’s working-age population (of adults aged between 15-60 years). As organizations try and tap into these resources, they are realizing that the talent pools across India have a different set of competencies and are at different stages of maturity. It is this issue we try to address through this report to help organisations make a strategic decision of selecting an apt location for setting up center in India.
