dc.description.abstract | The comprehensive project report assignment was attempted to gain experience in how an IT product company launches its product amidst tough competition, understand the value proposition and the customer expectations via detailed interviews and surveys. The report includes how Microsoft has launched Windows Phone 7 in the already crowded smartphone market and the differentiation strategy it needs to adapt to be successful in a relatively young market like India. In particular, this report attempts to analyze application strategy for Windows Phone 7 as it expands its market into India. The report has explained the mobile eco system, the importance of developer community, detailed consumer and developer analysis, SWOT for Windows Phone 7 followed by objectives and recommendations. Though the report is primarily compiled by talking to Indian consumers and developers, we realized that the recommendations and application strategies are applicable to a more global context given the nature of the product. | |
