dc.description.abstract | We have all spent time looking out or shopping for our purchases which are different from what others have. It would be really great to a get a product we want. In today s market, mass customization has already been taken up by various companies offering personalized products manufactured on demand.1 Many let consumers design, or co-design, and print their own objects. 3D printing is one technique that could allow consumers to create exactly the objects they want from jewellery to home decor (like the fluid vase) and gadget accessories. 3 D printing services have been used in industrial products and CAD/CAM based products but still is in a niche stage for custom art work. In India, this model has still not picked up due to higher costs of production till recently. However, with 3-D printer costs going down, it is matter of time the technique can be used from home and would be a boon for budding entrepreneurs.Products2 created in this fashion will be immensely valuable to their creators and to others as well. By enabling the manufacturing of ideas, the 3D printing industry could anticipate on and respond to demand for any type of specific goods. Eventually the informed and better off consumers will migrate to this market. | |
