Abstract: KIOCL is a 100X SOU, Publio Sector enterprise exporting iron ore concentrates and pellets. The mines are situated near Kudremukh. It is the largest iron ore mine in ASIA. The performance or effectiveness of the COMPANY organization purely depends upon the behavior of the individual members of the organisation. This behavior stems from the culture of the individual and the culture of the organisation. Before a person joins an organisation, he will be having his own values, beliefs which will determine his behavior.anisation has its own established culture. The organisation expects the person's culture to be the same as that of the organisation. As the time passes the person sets up his own beliefs, values as for as his work is concerned, when these values, beliefs does not match the conflict starts. The Culture Gap' so created will affect the behavior of a person in an organisation. In these days of global competition and globalisation of company operations is context, the contribution of managers becomes all the more important.in this context I decided to study the existing culture, the desired culture and gap between the two. This can be used further to study how this is affecting the behavior and in turn is affecting the performance of the organisation.
