Abstract: We through our research aim to understand the retail process of a handloom saree. How does the shopkeeper/salesperson gauge customer interest and preferences and match it to the saree collection in his store? More importantly, how does he know what kind of sarees to stock basis the color and pattern and the price points? And then how is this information transferred to the supplier and ultimately to the weaver?
